PS2 Host – Quickstart Guide

Setup

For clarity, this adapter is for using USB Guitars and Gamepads on the Playstation 2.

  1. Plug the male PS2 connector into your console.
  1. Plug the USB-C cable into the USB-C port on the bottom of the PS2 Host.
  1. Plug your USB controller into the port on the top of the PS2 Host.

Compatibility

All variants of the Playstation 2 are compatible with the PS2 Host.
If you experience issues with your specific PS2 revision, let us know!

All Guitar Hero and Rock Band games are supported by the PS2 Host.
Some features in non-rhythm games may not function, such as pressure sensitive inputs or keypad.

Programming

Requirements

  • PS2 Host
  • A computer that uses Windows, macOS, or Linux
  • The latest revision of RCM Programming Tool

Guitars use the Guitar preset.

Gamepads use the Gamepad preset.

To change the preset of your PS2 Host, you must use the RCM Programming Tool. Click here to be taken to the download page.

  1. Open the RCM Programming Tool.
  2. Open your PS2 Host to reveal the programming port.

  1. Plug your PS2 Host into your computer, using a USB-C cable. You will see it appear with “Configure” and “Reset to factory” buttons.
  2. Click “Configure
  1. You will be taken the configuration page where, on the left side, there is a dropdown for you to change presets.

    When switching to a different preset, click it, then click “Save Settings”.

  1. You will want to wait until the bar at the bottom reaches 100% and says Status: Done.
  1. Unplug your PS2 Host and give it a try!
