RCM V3 – Xbox One/S, Series S/X
Getting Started
Now that you’ve installed your RetroCultMods V3 Adapter, we can setup games on your Xbox One/One S, Series S/Series X!
Please click on the game you’ll be playing in dropdown menu below:
Keyboard Mode
When plugging in your guitar, press and hold the GREEN button.
This will put your guitar into keyboard mode, where your inputs will be assigned to the default Fortnite Festival Pro Lead Keyboard settings:
- 1-5 for frets
- Right Ctrl & Right Shift for strum
- Forward Slash (/) for whammy
- Page Down for overdrive
You will have to control your menus/character movement with another controller, but once you load into the Festival game mode, the guitar will function as intended!

Auth Needed
To play Rock Band 4 on your Xbox with a Wii guitar, you will have to authenticate your RetroCultMods V3 Adapter with a licensed Xbox One or Xbox Series controller.
How to authenticate your guitar
- Connect a licensed Xbox controller into the Authentication port on the top of the V3 adapter.
- Plug the V3 adapter into your Wii guitar.
- Plug a USB-C cable into the USB-C port of the adapter, then plug the other end into your console.
- Wait a moment, then strum up and down to make sure you have inputs.
- Remove the licensed Xbox controller from the Authentication Port.
Open Rock Band 4 and wait until you see the title screen. Hit the Start button on your Wii guitar and you will see the guitar join as a Guest.
Hit Start again and you can select a profile by selecting Change Profile.
If your controller is connect under the profile you want to use for the guitar, you’ll need to “drop out” the controller before assigning that profile to the guitar. Start playing!
